AtkinsRéalis / Joint Economic Development Initiative Inc. Bursary

In partnership with AtkinsRéalis, JEDI would like to offer four bursaries to students who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.

The winners of the 2023 JEDI/AtkinsRéalis bursaries were:

Chenille Augustine from Elsipogtog First Nation
Charlee Narvey
from Bilijk First Nation
Paula Ward
from Natoaganeg First Nation
Jade McComber
from Kahnawake First Nation

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Full-time Indigenous student; 

  • Residing in New Brunswick; 

  • Proof of Indigenous status; 

  • Proof of studies at a post-secondary institution (Preference may be given to those enrolled in University degree programs, due to the depth of commitment and expense involved.); 

  • In 500-1000 words, the applicant is to write an essay illustrating their need, objectives, future goals and aspirations, their commitment to education, volunteer work, and their desire to help NB First Nations communities thrive; 

  • A copy of the applicant’s resume. 

Amount:

Four (4) bursaries of $1,000 each are available.

Application Process: 

  • Submit a completed application along with an essay, proof of studies, proof of Indigenous status and resume to the JEDI office by November 30th, 2023. Successful applicants will be notified in January 2024.  

How are the bursary applicants selected? 

A selection committee will review applications, and a final award of the bursary will be issued in January 2024.
